TOP 5 TOO YOUNG TO DIE: CHARIZMA

Born Charles Hicks (1973-1993) “Charizma” was an up and coming MC out of Milpitas, CA who was signed to the Disney owned record label “Hollywood Records” in 1990 with his DJ/Producer “Peanut Butter Wolf” After disputes with the label over sound they only released one single titled “Red light, Green light” before Hicks was tragically shot and killed during a mugging in December of 93′

Pained by the loss of his partner and best friend Wolf immersed himself into his music and eventually became a world renown DJ and founded his own label “Stones Throw Records” in 1996 showcasing the talents of Georgia Anne Muldrow, Tony Tone Toni’s Karriem Riggins, Homeboy Sandman, Madlib, Aloe Blacc and the late great J DILLA. 10 years after founding Stones Throw Peanut Butter Wolf paid respects to the life and promising career of his late friend by releasing their long shelved debut album “BIG SHOTS”
